What we store, and what we don't.

Summary

Tapamine is free to play with no account. We collect only what's needed to run daily leaderboards, ghost replays, challenge links, and basic usage analytics. We do not sell personal data. The website is funded by ads from Google (see Advertising below).

On your device

The hub stores a guest profile in your browser's local storage: a random ID, generated display name, best scores, daily progress, streak, coins, sound settings, and challenge inbox. Best-run replays for ghost playback may also be cached locally. You can clear this by clearing site data for tapamine.com.

On our servers

On your first visit the app registers your guest ID with our server automatically. We then store:

Scores are checked by re-simulating replays on the server so leaderboards stay honest.

Analytics

We use first-party, cookieless analytics: batched events (for example session start, run end) sent to /e on tapamine.com. A short-lived session ID lives in session storage. We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. Events may include game id, score, platform, and coarse country from Cloudflare's edge — not your name or email.

Cloudflare may also provide zone-level Web Analytics or performance beacons if enabled in our Cloudflare dashboard; those are configured separately from the app code.

Google Analytics

On tapamine.com we also use Google Analytics to see how people find the site, for example which searches or links bring visitors. It uses first-party cookies to count visits. Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off, and event data is kept for 2 months.

In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google Analytics sets no cookies unless you agree in the consent message. It doesn't load at all if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, and never in embedded games on other sites, our app, or our portal versions. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services; you can also use Google's opt-out add-on.

Advertising

On tapamine.com, Google shows occasional full-screen ads between runs and optional "watch an ad" rewards (for example, double coins). Ads are never shown inside a run, in embedded games on other sites, or in our portal versions.

Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve ads, measure them, and (where you allow it) personalize them based on your visits to this and other sites. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services; you can turn off personalized ads at Google Ad Settings.

In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, and in US states with privacy laws, a consent message from Google's certified consent platform asks for your choice before personalized ads are shown. You can change it any time from the "Privacy and cookie settings" link the message leaves on the page.

Our own analytics stay first-party and cookieless; we don't share them with advertisers.

The Tapamine app (iOS and Android)

The app plays the same games as the website and collects the same things: a guest ID, verified best runs and their replays, challenge links, and first-party analytics, as described above. It stores your guest profile on your device; deleting the app deletes it.

The app shows no ads and doesn't use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK. It doesn't ask for or use the advertising identifier.

On iPhone and iPad, if you're signed in to Game Center, your scores are also sent to Apple's Game Center leaderboards, which keep your best score in each game under your Game Center profile. Apple handles that data under its own privacy policy; you can sign out of Game Center in Settings.

Embedded games

Games embedded on other sites load from tapamine.com in an iframe and follow the same storage and analytics rules as the main hub.
