Hop is a one-tap road crossing game. You're a little green blob trying to get as far up the page as you can: over roads full of cars and trucks, across rivers on drifting logs and lily pads, and over train tracks where an express can come through at any moment. Every tap is one hop forward. You can't steer and you can't go back, so the whole game is timing.
How to play Hop
- Tap anywhere to hop forward one row.
- Cars and trucks drive along the roads. Hop through the gaps between them.
- Rivers can only be crossed on logs and lily pads. They carry you sideways; don't ride one off the edge of the screen.
- When a railway signal flashes red and the bell rings, a train is coming. Wait for it to pass.
- Don't wait on one row for too long, or a big bird swoops down and carries you off.
- Your score is the furthest row you reach. Grab gold coins on logs and grass on the way.
Tips to get a high score
- Look two rows ahead, not one. The safest time to hop is when the next two lanes both have a gap coming.
- A tap during a hop is remembered, so you can chain hops quickly through a gap.
- On the river, hop onto a log that is heading back toward the middle of the screen.
- Grass is your safe spot. Catch your breath there, but count to three: the bird comes at four seconds.
- Close calls with cars earn a "CLOSE!" pop. Fun, but don't make a habit of it.
Daily levels and ghost races
Every day Hop has a new daily level that's the same for everyone. While you play, you race translucent “ghosts” — real replays of other players and your friends. Beat a score, then send a challenge link so a friend can race your ghost on the exact same level.
FAQ
Can I move left or right?
No. A tap always hops straight forward. The only way your position changes sideways is by riding a log or lily pad on the river, which is what makes river crossings tricky.
Why did a bird grab me?
If you stand on the same row for about four seconds, a bird swoops in. It circles first and your blob looks scared, so you get a warning. Keep hopping.
What happens if I tap while I'm already hopping?
One tap is saved and you hop again the moment you land, so quick double taps carry you through tight gaps.
Is it free?
Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.
How do challenges work?
After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
