Brick is a one-button brick breaker. Your paddle is a googly-eyed bar at the bottom of the screen: it slides right while you hold and left when you let go, with just enough weight that you learn to feather it. Bounce the ball into the brick wall above. Where the ball lands on the paddle sets its angle, so the edges send it flying sideways. The wall creeps down and pushes in new rows from the top, and if it reaches the red spikes the run is over. Some bricks drop a wide paddle, a multiball or a coin. You get three balls, and the ball speeds up as you go.
How to play Brick
- Hold anywhere to slide the paddle right. Let go and it slides left.
- Keep the ball in play. Hitting it with the paddle's edge sends it out at a steep angle.
- Every brick you break is a point. Darker bricks take two or three hits.
- Catch W for a wide paddle and x3 for multiball. Don't let the wall reach the spikes.
Tips to get a high score
- Quick taps hold the paddle almost still. You don't have to swing it end to end.
- Aim for the lowest bricks first. They're the ones about to crush you.
- The first ball of each life drops slowly from the middle, so get under it early.
- Saving the ball on the very edge of the paddle earns a CLOSE!
- Bricks broken in one flight climb in pitch, and six in a row drop a coin.
How fast the wall comes down
The wall slides down slowly at first. A new row pushes in at the top about every 10 seconds. Over the first 75 seconds or so that speeds up to a new row every three seconds or so, and it stays at that pace after that. At full speed, a stretch where you don't break anything costs you a lot of room.
New rows get tougher as more of them arrive. Over roughly the first 40 rows, more and more bricks take two hits, and some take three. After the first few rows, some rows also come with a missing brick that leaves a gap you can aim through.
The ball speeds up on the same 75-second clock. Its speed is set each time it leaves your paddle, so you'll feel it change one bounce at a time rather than all at once.
What capsules and points are worth
Every brick you break is one point. Hits on a two- or three-hit brick that don't break it score nothing. About one brick in nine drops a capsule. Nearly half of the capsules are multiball, about a third are the wide paddle, and the rest are coins. Gold bricks also drop a coin when they break.
Multiball splits every ball in play into three, up to six balls. You only lose a life when the last ball drops, so multiball is the best time to clear a lot of bricks and push the wall back up. The wide paddle lasts about 12 seconds, and losing a life takes it away.
For a long run, play the bottom row. The game only removes a row from the bottom once it's completely empty. A single brick left in the lowest row keeps that row in place, so finishing off the stragglers there does more than breaking bricks higher up.
Aiming with a one-button paddle
Where the ball lands on the paddle sets its angle. Dead centre sends it straight up. The very edge sends it out at about 60 degrees from vertical. The paddle's own movement adds a small sideways push as well.
Since the paddle is always moving one way or the other, the trick is to arrive early. Turning around from full speed takes about a third of a second. So get under the ball while it's still high, then feather short holds and releases to place it on the part of the paddle you want.
After you lose a ball, the next one drops slowly from somewhere near the middle less than a second later. It falls slowly enough to give you time to set up an angled first shot toward the lowest bricks.

FAQ
How do I keep the paddle still?
Tap rapidly, or hold and release in short bursts. The paddle has a little momentum, so it settles between taps.
Why does the wall keep moving down?
New rows push in from the top all the time, faster as the run goes on. Break bricks quickly, especially the low ones, to keep it away from the spikes.
Is it free?
Yes. Every Tapamine game is free to play in your browser with no download and no account.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tapamine is built for phones first: portrait, one thumb, and it works offline after your first visit. It also works with a mouse or the spacebar on a computer.
How do challenges work?
After a run, tap “Challenge a friend” to send a link. Your friend plays the exact same level and races your ghost — a replay of your run — to see who wins.
